It was suggested by a friend to watch. a movie starts w/ f? u & ends by the same word. But it was Extremley astonishing. well it must be just az a KUBRICK, no wonder.
But this is realy weird, I realy wanna know do we still have these guys as Dr.Bill , who entirely left all those provoking situations just for sake of his marriage??? Come on?. You know what !!! this is the most disgusting world we have. Everyone are concerned with fuck, Just as the whole film mentioned.
Some guys says that it was a surreal one, but I don?t think so. This is the real face of our todays life, ANYONE wants sex, no matter they are man, woman, young, old, poor, rich, enlightend, dumb, Dr, president, holly man, artist, library man, clerck, bussinnesman, any? and here Kubricks put them under their masks coz he wanna say that no matter who they are or what they are, they just wanna fuck, as simple as you see. Even he mentioned that they can be ANYONE that you may see in your everyday life, the guys which can be stand next to you or even can be stand higher/lower than you ?
One of the other points in this movie which was flashing everytime was this everyday life which we all faced with any aspects of sex. Any where we go, anything we do its just have a relation to these junks ?
well in common it was a symbolic film which I found it mostly true
Virtually, any Kubrick movie title elicits evasiveness. But this one instantly suggests straightforwardness but on closer inspection still holds the same amount of ambiguity and varied interpretation.
Weird and strange movie but very good. Good performances of Kidman and Cruise. I expected more at the end of the movie.
Kubricks last film, which was notorious for the way the studio tinkered with it after the directors death. Even with the hack job that was done to the sex scenes, its still an interesting dissection of a mans obsession with sexual politics. Although Cruise is good, Kidman gives one of her best performances.
Never judge by the pace value. One would never imagine that such things were going on under the guise of costume paty. A tooth for a tooth and and eye for an eye will lead no marriage nowhere.
This film is hilarious.
It's a never ending story and one of the films in which i rated Tom Cruise so high.
It's a must-watch.
Love from Nigeria, Africa.
Though there are a few ahead in my all time SK faves,I just feel this one is always overlooked.Yes,there are alot of slower moments with s l o w conversations as the characters utter their words. The conversations between Tom and Nic do feel very real to me,especially the bedroom/pot/argument scene. It is a beautifully dark film but with a drop of hope splashed upon the end.I know it may be a meaningless thing to say,but the fact that the last word in Kubrick's last film is "Fuck."always seems to make me laugh for some odd reason.I love and own the soundtrack as well. The best scene though,of course,is the entire scene at the party house. Its direction, its paranoia and how it is like a bad dream when its all said and done,it just creeps me out in a sense.Ive seen thebanned version of the scene but own the US version and you CAN tell a difference in a couple of parts.Anyways,I love this film, though not my top 3,definently better than some of his pre-Lolita films.Stanley,we miss you!
A film that had the potential to be one of the greatest movies EVER. Instead though, were are given a film that treads in a pointless affair with mashed messages blenderised with a nonsensical plot. Kidman is brilliant, the camerawork and lighting vibrant, but you'll be pressed to find much more from this sorely overappreciated work.
Kubrick's Gift to us all. "I have seen one or two things in my life but never, never anything like this.
